Architecture Photography

Saturday 17 August
Hereford - 2pm - 2 Hours

Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

The 50mm lens is one of the flexible and useful lenses in any photographer’s gear bag. It is neither a wide-angle or telephoto lens, but allows the camera to see on the same scale as your eye. As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, we’ll review the basic camera settings. We’ll then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. As always, there will be ample opportunities for you to put your new knowledge into practice.

I was looking to connect with like minded people, if your family is like me, going for a walk and stopping to take photos can have an impact on others who don't share your interest. Not only did I pick up some new skills the social connection was great. As someone who works with people around connection, confidence and anxiety I know the power of connection. Looking forward to booking on other events to improve my knowledge and hanging out with likeminded people.

This photo is from HAUGHMOND ABBEY just outside of Shrewsbury - here you can find the extensive remains of an Augustinian abbey, including its abbots? quarters, refectory and cloister. This was taken at around 2pm and was a result of a last minute trip to create some adventure and try to capture some unique elements of the site. I didn?t want to just capture the ?bigger remains? I wanted to capture the unique elements that mixed different elements and angles. This photo was the result and cap

Despite the weather seeming to have not received the message it is spring, the flowers are more than making up with it. I took this photo when the first of the lesser celandine was blooming on the woodland floor - always a lovely sight. With macro photography, I very much enjoy playing around with shallow depths of field - with this I try to get some bokeh and/or painterly effects in the background.

I love to take advantage of a frosty morning to grab some macro shots, but the way the sun was hitting this patch of moss added a lovely extra dimension I was excited to try and capture. I especially enjoy the twinkly bokeh effect the frost creates in the background.

I?m was born and raised in San Francisco and now live in Uganda, working as a professional photographer and safari guide. This lioness is one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever encountered. She was resting high up in a tree at Murchison Falls, in the northwest region. Before taking this photo, she roared at me, baring her sharp canines. It was a simple warning not to overstep her boundaries. The lioness had some cubs located at the base of the tree so she was protective of them. Th
